Fyrbyrd is a well-known local country cabaret band. They have a reputation for fine harmonies and are the regular Friday and Saturday night band at Townsville’s Royal Oak Hotel. Fyrbyrd has been playing at the Townsville Showground Markets every Sunday afternoon for the past four years. Various prizes at the Charters Towers Country Music Festival has come their way including the Country Gospel 2nd placing this year. The band consists of Tony Farlow, drums and lead and harmony vocals, Andrew Hall, bass and lead and harmony vocals, Mike Hubbard, lead guitar and lead and harmony vocals, and Vic Hall, rhythm guitar and lead and harmony vocals.
